Maureen Denise McCormick, the only daughter of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father taught in the school system and her mother was a stay at home mom. There are three brothers older than her: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick always enjoyed performing, dancing and performing performances with puppets. Her rise to fame as a fairytale began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 which led to being contacted by the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked whether she wanted to enter the show industry. McCormick was chosen to play in her debut major role in 1964 in a tv commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play The Wind It up until It breaks in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was selected out of a crowd of over 1500 children who had auditioned for the role of the oldest of three towheaded girls on the new TV show The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The show ran for five seasons and the show was a successful one. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick disclosed that during the 5th season of the TV show she almost lost their virginity to brother Barry Williams. In the moment, she was 16, and he was 19. This would have occurred, she says. However, the timing of our romance was not right.
